Abstract
PURPOSE: To perform land reclamation of an area enclosed by banks or the like using mud and sand dredged at the distance by such a procedure as towing a barge loaded mud containers to the reclaiming area, lifting up the containers by cranes installed at banks etc. and releasing this mud and sand over the area.
CONSTITUTION: Mud and sand dredged by a grab is put into mud containers. The water included in this mud and sand is to be separated off at this time. The barge loaded with containers full with mud and sand is towed to the intended area surrounded by banks or the like to come alongside the bank. The containers are lifted up by a crane and invertd or opened over the area to release the mud and sand. This procedure eliminates necessity of using any large-scaled facilities such as a two-stage sludge transport equipment, and accordingly land reclamation can be performed witout causing contamination at the water area concerned.
