Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve weather resistance and transparency of a superhigh-molecular polyethylene sheet, by rolling the sheet at a specified thickness reduction ratio and under a heating condition.
CONSTITUTION: A superhigh-molecular polyethylene sheet is rolled to a thickness of less than 50% of the original thickness at a temperature of generally about 95W 120°C, preferably about 100W115°C. Rolling of the sheet is effected preferably by a press when the sheet is a shorter one; when the sheet is a longer one, it is rolled preferably between rolls. It is preferable from the viewpoint of workability that the sheet to be rolled has a thickness of about 200W1,300μ.
