Abstract
PURPOSE: To manufacture a sprocket easily and at low cost, after forming an annular body from rolled material, applying gear cutting on the projected strand on the outer periphery of the annular body and dividing the annular body into several pieces, by fastening the divided pieces on the peripheral edge of a rib plate.
CONSTITUTION: In manufacturing, at first the rolled material A consisting of a band-shaped plate 1, projections 2 formed on the front and the back surfaces, and the projected plate 3 is bent in cylindrical form, and an annular body B is formed by jointing the butt end parts of the rolled material A. Gear 4 is worked on the projection strand 2 of the annular body B, and through-holes 5 which extend both side surfaces are formed at the prescribed intervals on the circumference of the projection plate 3. Then the annular body B is cut into the prescribed number of parts and divided bodies A' are obtained. A disc 6 having the diameter equal to the inner diameter of the plate body 1 is formed, and on the periphery of the disc, a prescribed number of divided bodies A' are arranged. A fastening tool 8 is inserted into the through-hole 5 of the projection plate 3 and the through-hole 7 of the disc 6, and fastening is fixed, and thus a sprocket is completed.
