Abstract
PURPOSE:To control development fogging and enhance the density of an image by imagewise exposing a direct positive image forming silver halide photographic material of internal latent image type followed by uniform exposure or treatment with a developer containing a tetrazaindene derivative in the presence of a fogging agent. CONSTITUTION:To a developer are added 0.01-20g/l of a tetrazaindene derivative represented by the formula [where each of R1 and R2 is H, (substituted) 1-4C alkyl or (substituted) aryl, R1 and R2 may be nonmetallic atoms required to form a 5- or 6-membered ring by bonding to each other, and R3 is H, (substituted) 1-4C alkyl or (substituted) aryl]. Using this developer a high quality positive image is obtained having a lower min. density and a higher max. density.
