Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain sufficiently high engine output without delay in response, by controlling the amount of fuel supplied to an automotive engine for acceleration, slow-acceleration and deceleration of the same in response to an air-flow signal related to the air-fuel ratio of mixture. CONSTITUTION:An electric heater 6 constituting a hot-wire flow meter is disposed in air passage at a portion thereof located upstreams of throttle valves 20, 21 in throttle chamber 4, and an electric signal related to the air flow rate, determined by the relationship between the velocity of air flow and the heat transfer rate of heater 6, is afforded to controlling circuit 11. An oxygen sensor 17 is disposed in exhaust pipe 3 and a sensor 19 for detecting the temperature of engine cooling water is attached to engine 1. Information from these sensors is given to controlling circuit 11 for compensating the air-fuel ratio. An injector 5 is driven by electric signals from the controlling circuit 11, and the amount of fuel supplied to engine 1 is controlled by the timing for opening and closing the injector 5.
