Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain a highly active catalyst with heat resistance and impact resistance by a method wherein TiO2-V2O5 type catalyst component is held within a basket formed by firmly depositing a fine wire metal net on both sides of a thick wire metal net.
CONSTITUTION: In a selective denitrating reaction of an exhaust gas using ammonia as a reducing agent, a fine wire metal net 2 as a basket wall is firmly deposited to both sides of a thick wire metal net 1 forming a skeleton in a sandwich like manner to form a basket structure 3 and a basket shaped denitrating catalyst obtained by holding TiO2-V2O5 type catalyst component 4 within the interior thereof is used. This catalyst is excellent in heat resistance, pressure resistance and impact resistance because a catalyst component is not directly deposited to a basket wall.
