Abstract

PURPOSE: To secure a high-speed output of the phase coordinates by delivering only the position coordinate information of the character pattern memorized in the form of the binary information from the pattern generator used for the information processor or the like and then carrying out a follow-up scanning based on the character pattern.
CONSTITUTION: The binary signal groups equivalent to one line are memorized in parallel into parallel shift register 103 from pattern memory 101 in which variuos types of character patterns are memorized in the form of the binary signal and in accordance with driving of row data output circuit 102. Then the highest-rank bit which became 1 among the contents register 103 is converted into the binary number through priority encoder 104 and then delivered in the form of position coordinate output signal 105. In accordance with this action, signal 105 is decoded by decoder 106, and the bit being encoded is selected from register 103 by the decoded signal and via clearing circuit 107 to be cleared to 0. Then a follow-up scanning is carried out based on the character pattern, and the position coordinate output signal is delivered in a high speed.
