Abstract
PURPOSE: To enable scraps of a dispersion strengthening type platinum material to be regenerated and used without refining by pickling the scraps after which they are cut finely, press-compressed in a female die with a male die, and hot forged or sintered.
CONSTITUTION: Scraps of a dispersion strengthening type platinum alloy obtd. by dispersing TiC, Al2O3, CaO, ZrO2 or the like in Pt to increase the high temp. creep strength are pickled, cut finely, filled in a female die, press-compressed with a male die under a press. of 8tons/cm2, heated, and hot forged or sintered. The resulting regenerated product is about equal to a new dispersion strengthening type platinum material in high temp. creep strength, and it has superior thermal durability. Since it is not required that the scraps are refined, this method is economically advantageous.
