Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable a saving of an earth and sand center being used at an initial stage of subsidence, and besides to shorten sharply a construction period, by removably attaching an auxiliary cutter secured at the inside of the end of a stepped cutter proper so that a support force of the whole cutter can be adjusted.
CONSTITUTION: An auxiliary cutter 5, which is bent so that it adheres closely to the inside of the end of a stepped cutter 4 of a caison proper 2, i.e., a stepped part, and which is composed of a boxed or a latticed metal in the circumferential direction and at given length and is composed of concrete and the like, is secured by means of bolts inserted into fitting holes 6. Taking the durability of the ground and the weight of the caison proper 2 into consideration, the auxiliary cutter 5 is secured, and as a result a bottom surface 3 of the whole cutter is enlarged and the support area can be increased. And thus, attaching of the auxiliary cutter 5 can eliminate the need for the use of an earth and sand center and so on even in the soft ground where the earth and sand center has so far been adopted.
