Abstract

PURPOSE: A sealing material composition that contains a specific modified low- molecular polyisoprene rubber, its crosslinking agent, and fillers and shows an elongation at break higher than a certain level when cured, thus having high elastic elongation and adhesion.
CONSTITUTION: The objective composition comprises (A) 100pts.wt. of modified low-molecular polyisoprene rubber formed by adding 0.5W12mol% of (i) maleic anhydride or its derivative to (ii) a low molecular weight isoprene rubber of 18,000W 150,000 molecular weight and more than 75% cis-1,4-linkage, (B) a crosslinking agent for component A such as potassium acetate and (C) fillers such as light calcium carbonate in an amount of less than 250 parts when components B and C are combined and the cured products show higher 200% elongation at break.
