Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent the separation of the components of a composition for the preparation of a polyurethane, without causing odorization and discoloration, nor affecting the properties and cost of the product, by compounding a specific amount of silica to a composition containing a long-chain polyol and a short-chain polyol.
CONSTITUTION: (A) A composition for the preparation of polyurethane composed of (i) 100pts.wt. of a polyether polyol having an average molecular weight of 1,000W8,000 and (ii) 3W50 parts of a polyhydroxy compound and/or polyamine having an average molecular weight of ≤800, is compounded with (B) 0.02W 1.0pts.wt., based on 100 parts of the (A) component, of silica powder having an average primary particle diameter of ≤30nm. The (B) component is pref. dispersed, prior to the addition to (A), in an OH-containing prepolymer obtained by reacting a polyether polyol having an average molecular weight of 300W8,000 with a polyisocyanate (NCO/OH is 0.05W0.7) and water (water/NCO is 0.05W0.5).
