Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce the effect of intershaft distance error on load capacity by acknowledging quantitatively the amount of shift of a pair of circular tooth gears.
CONSTITUTION: The tooth end of small gear 1 and a part of the tooth base of large gear 2 come into contact at point CA. As they move away from point CA, the gap ΔP on the intermeshing pitch circle of the two gears gradually increases. Similarly, the tooth base of small gear 1 and a part of the tooth base of large gear 2 come in contact at point CD. As they move away from point CD, the gap ΔP between the two teeth gradually increases. That is, point CPA on the tooth end of small gear 1 and point CGD on the tooth base of large gear 2 come into contact, and point CPD tooth base of on small gear 1 and point CGA on the tooth end of large gear 2 come into contact. As a result, the shifted circular tooth gears that satisfy a specified condition can be obtained respectively from the calculated values and thereby the amount of shift is obtained quantitatively.
