Abstract
PURPOSE:To enable the accurate irradiation of a laser beam on the thermal actuating part of each nozzle by a method wherein each nozzle is scanned by the 2nd laser beam and the result is detected for controllig the timing of irradiation of the 1st laser beam. CONSTITUTION:After being modulated by a modulator according to the input of a recording information signal, the 1st laser beam oscillated by the 1st laser oscillator is swept horizontally by a polygon rotating at a fixed speed is formed into an image in the thermal operation part 222 of each nozzle of a nozzle line by a f-theta lens. Being given the action of thermal energy by this image, liquid drips are made to be discharged from nozzle and fly. The 2nd laser beam oscillated by the 2nd laser oscillator is not subjected to the modulation and scans the nozzles by the energy not making the liquid drips be discharged. This scanning is detected sequentially by a detector 232 and by a detected signal thus given the timing of irradiation of the 1st laser beam is controlled.
