Abstract

PURPOSE: To control scanning speed and scanning acceleration simply and securely by rotating pulleys by way of wire rope depending on the swing of cam followers.

CONSTITUTION: A cam follower 4 is swung by a cam 3 which rotates in connection with a light sensitive drum, and a shaft 13 rotates with a pulley 7a by way of pulley 6a of the cam follower 4 and wire rope 8a whose one end is connected to a retainer 9a. At the time of backward swing of the follower 4, the shaft 13 rotates by way of a pulley 7b with a tension force developed by the strain of wire rope 8b which has been slackened at the time of an initial state, thereby scanning is made by the movement of a mirror in an optical system. When a shaft 30 is rotated, strained and slackened states of the 8a and 8b under the initial state is changed by cams 10a and 10b and retainers 9a and 9b, the scanning speed is changed depending on the magnification factors of copying caused by the switching of the pulleys 7a and 7b. When the rotating speed of the cam 3 is changed, the acceleration is also changed simply and securely, thereby high-resolution magnification copying can be accomplished.
