PURPOSE:To decrease the number of tracks as well as enhance the quality of the aural signal by recording the aural signal information and the video signal information which are modulated with the different frequencies in the different tracks. CONSTITUTION:Electrode 152 of stylus 15 functioning as the pickup element is set to width l1 or so which covers over video signal information track TR1 and aural signal information track TR2. Accordingly, the signals picked up are separated into the aural and video signal information each through aural and video information filter circuits 26 and 27, and then compared with each other at differential amplifier circuit 32 after rectification. And then the differential component is extracted, and the output of the differential component is applied to track compensator 33 to give the control to the pickup element. As a result, the compensation is given so that the pickup element may always ensure the steady tracing for both tracks.
