Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the sliding characteristics of a swash plate and a shoe and to obtain a compressor of light weight and high durability by a method wherein, in the titled compressor used in a car air-conditioning coolant compressor, the swash plate is made of a high silicon-aluminum alloy, and the shoe is made by carbide laminated molding process.
CONSTITUTION: When a high silicon-aluminum alloy is used as the material of swash plate 6 of a compressor, since silicon of initial crystallization and eutectic crystallization scatters in the high silicon-aluminum alloy and silicon grains fall off, its surface becomes coarse and the amount of its heat generation increases. For this reason, elements in Vb Group and VIb Group in the Periodic Table are diffused in a base material consisting of carbon steel, and this is subjected to carbide laminated molding process and the resultant substance is used for making a shoe. Then, good sliding characteristics are obtained for the swash plate and the shoe.
