Abstract
PURPOSE: To improve the strength and measurement precision of the crossover line through a simple construction by detecting the variation of the resistance value through which a sliding resistor operates by the contact of crossover lines as a sliding resistance system thereby to detect the position of the contact position.
CONSTITUTION: To the end part of the bow part 8' of a pantograph exclusively used for measurement, there is fitted a horn 10 formed by bending a pipe made of a light alloy into a shape of a circle having a suitable radius. The section of the horn 10 is circular at the joint (c) with the bow part 8', and is ellipsoidal at the joint (d). On the surface of the horn, resistance wires are wound in a combination or resistors are fixed thereby to form a sliding resistor 11. When one end of a DC power source E is connected to the bow part 8' of the pantograph 8 exclusively used for measurement and another end thereof is connected through a resistor 14 to the proximal end of the slide resistor 11, a signal voltage e corresponding to the contact position of a crossover line 3 and the slide resistor 11 appears at the resistor 14. The desired signal voltage e can be derived by eliminating harmful components by a low-pass filter 15.
