Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain an emulsifier composition which can afford cream or lotion having a mild action by emulsifying an oil component and which contains a basic amino acid salt of a atty acid and a fatty acid ester of a polyhydric alcohol as reguisite components. CONSTITUTION:An emulsifier composition contains as requisite components a basic amino acid salt of a fatty acid, e.g., L-lysine salt of MC stearic acid, synthesized from a 8-40C fatty acid and lysine, and a fatty acid ester of a polyhydric alcohol, e.g., stearic acid monoglyceride, in a porportion of approx. 20:1-1:20 by weight. The composition can sufficiently emulsify an oil component, e.g., a mineral oil, an animal oil, a vegetable oil, a wax, or a synthetic ester oil, to form stable emulsions, and cream or lotion products obtained from the emulsifier composition only or the emulsifier composition with an additive have a mild action on the skin, as well as excellent applicability and appearance.
