Abstract
PURPOSE: To prevent a quality deterioration of sintered ore by spraying water upon a lower layer portion of a charged starting material layer on a pallet and controlling heat accumulation in the portion with heat of vaporization of the water when fine ore is sintered with a DL type sintering machine.
CONSTITUTION: Grate protecting bed ore 4 is laid on moving pallet 1 of a sintering machine, and blended starting material 5 for sintering is charged onto ore 4 in layer with drum feeder 7 and deflector plate 8. Feed water piping 9 and a plurality of spray nozzles 10 leading to piping 9 have been set at the charge accumulation starting point on pallet 1 or a little to the side of bed ore hopper 2 in the lateral direction of pallet 1, and water is sprayed from nozzles 10 upon a lower layer portion of material 5 on pallet 1. The water content of the portion is increased, and an excessive temp. rise in the portion due to downward draft is controlled by evaporation of the water to prevent the portion from lowering in gas permeability owing to overmelting and bonding. Thus, the resulting sintered ore is prevented from lowering in reduction powdering rate in a blast furnace.
