Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce the number of necessary varieties of metallic molds for forming gaskets remarkably by fitting a mold to form the desired optical surface on a lens by use of a gasket with no ringed convex part on the inner wall. CONSTITUTION:Molds 1, 2 are mounted and held on a base plate 5. the base plate 5 is moved up and down by a cylinder 6, fixed to a determined position or elevated and removed. If machine bases 16, 16' are moved right and left in parallel with the axis, the molds 1, 2 slide out of the base plate 5 and are opened to the right and left. Then, the base plate 5 is removed upward. A gasket is located at the determined position in place of the base plate 5. The machine bases 16, 16' approach from the right and left, the molds 1, 2 bit into the gasket and a mold for casting and polymerizing is obtained.
