Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain high-quality, low-priced runner even with a large size by a method wherein runner division pieces are cast and, after their water flow portion is adjusted in shape, combined into an unitary body by welding their divided faces to each other.
CONSTITUTION: A runner crown 1 is equally divided at the division line b indicated by dotted line (a) which does not pass the connection of the crown 1 and a runner blade 2 with each other, and a runner band at the division line (d) indicated by broken line (c) which does not pass the connection of the band 3 and the blade 2 with each other. The runner division pieces of which each is made of the crown 1 having one piece or a plurality of pieces of the runner blade 2 and the division pieces of the band 3 are casted and, after their flow portion is adjusted in shape, combined into a unitary body by welding the division faces of the runner division pieces to each other.
