Abstract

PURPOSE: To raise current collection efficiency in an entire running speed range, by collecting a current from a contact-type current collector in a low speed region but from a wind-driven generator in a very high speed region.

The speed Vo is set on the basis of the efficiency curve of a wind windmill and the curve of the rate of separation of the contactor of the current collector from a power feed rail. The intersection of both the curves is the ideal changeover point. Efficient current collection is thus enabled in the entire running speed range of a very fast railroad.
