Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable a polyester resin tube to be produced by a direct extrusion molding process, by a method wherein, after molten polyester resin extruded through a die head is cooled once, the resin is biaxially strethed as it is heated. CONSTITUTION:Molten polyester resin, particularly molten polyethylene telephthalate resin, are continuously extruded through a die head 1, resultant parison P1 being cooled by the use of a cooling unit 4 as the parison is stretched in the extruding direction. The parison is passed through a stretching mandrel 8 as it is heated to a stretching temperature by means of heating units 6 and 6', and it is biaxially stretched in the radial direction and the axial direction. Immediately after being stretched, the parison is cooled to produce a biaxial stretched tube P2. A direct extrusion molding can be performed, also in the case of polyester resin, which have an extremely low melting viscosity, being used.
