Abstract
PURPOSE:To avoid heating of a portion where heating is not required, and to improve a surface finishing condition, by selecting the mixture ratio of oxigen or carbonic acid gas to a shield gas so that the desired arc extending diameter, i.e., the desired heating width, be obtained. CONSTITUTION:A torch electrode 1 for heating is connected with an anode and a work 3 with a cathode, work 3 is heated only by necessary width by an arc 2, at a position A and work 3 is cut by a cutting tool 4 at a position B. With an extending diameter of arc 2, the mixing of oxigen gas is controlled within a range of the mixture ratio of approximate 0-5% to a shield gas, and the extending diameter is freely selected within a range of 10-35mm.
