Abstract

PURPOSE:To deliver paper sheets one by one without breakage and improve handling power by a method wherein a stack of paper sheets is curved as a whole, and the sheets in the outermost layer are fed one by one in the direction of the valley bottom line. CONSTITUTION:With a stack X of paper sheets mounted on a mount table main body 15, the light from a light emitter 38 is interrupted so that an electromagnetic drive mechanism is energized, a plunger is moved up, side plates of the table main body 15 are rotated inwards about a hinge, and the stack X is slid upward along the curved surfaces. Because the central portion of the stack X comes into contact with a stopper 27, the stack X is curved into a concave shape, and its end faces parallel with the direction of its thickness are press-nipped by projection pieces 21 and 22. A band member p binding the stack X is deformed into a roughly round shape, so that only a portion of the stack X remains in contact with the inside surface of the band member p. In this condition, the table main body 15 is elevated to bring the uppermost paper sheet Q of the stack X into contact with a feed roll 32, and only the sheet Q is moved sideways by the suction function of the roller 32. Thus, the paper sheets can be transferred one by one.
