Abstract

PURPOSE: To remarkably increase the distance through which a tire can run in its punctured condition by applying a rubber composition of high modulus and of good bending resistance as a reinforcing member to the inner surface of a side section of the tire or an inner surface portion of the tire extending from the side section to the shoulder section of the tire.
CONSTITUTION: An annular elastic reinforcing member 6 of a tire 1 is formed by a polybutadiene rubber composition which consists of 100 parts by weight of a rubber and 30W100pts.wt. of carbon black combined with the rubber. The rubber consists of 20pts.wt. or more of a polybutadiene rubber and not more than 80pts.wt. of another diene stock rubber. The polybutadiene rubber contains a polymer obtained by polymerization of cis-1,4-polybutadiene with syndiotactic-1,2-polybutadiene and the entire microstructure consists of 78W93wt% of cis-1,4 structure and 6W20wt% of syn-1,2 structure in which at least 40% of syn is crystallized into short fiber conditions.
