Abstract

PURPOSE:To compensate the upper and lower pin cushion distortion without using any compensation circuits by adding a compensating magnet and providing a vertical coil generating a deflecting field which has an offset relationship with misconvergence. CONSTITUTION:The magnets m1 and m2 which compensate the upper and lower pin cushion distortion are housed in the pocket at the preset position of the bobbin 10 and are fixed with adhesive. The vertical deflection coil 11 generating a deflecting field which has an offset relationship with the misconvergence caused by adding the magnets is provided, with its hollow section broadened and with its winding width narrowed. This can effectively compensate the upper and lower pin cushion distortion with the compensating magnets without using any special compensating circuits and without affecting the convergence characteristics adversely.
