Abstract

PURPOSE: To get a hydraulic cylinder which can effectively bear eccentric or oblique load, by fitting an external cylinder interlocked with an actuator in contact with a cylinder tube outside of which the actuator is fitted.
CONSTITUTION: A cylinder tube 4 is fixed with screws 5 by its flange 4a to a head cover 2 which is fixed with screws 3 to a base 1. The top of a ram 6 and the upper end of an external cylinder 7 are fixed with screws 8, 9 to a ram head 10 which is fitted through brackets 12, 12' and a pin 13 to a driven body 11. At least three rollers 14 are set at equal intervals to the external cylinder 7 in the circumferential direction, being in contact with a movable passage 17 attached to the tube 4. This construction can improve life expectancy of the actuator, because most part of eccentric or oblique load on the actuator is supported by the external cylinder 7 and tube 4.
