Unless the cylindrical lens 2 is present, only light in a hatched region is detected by the photosensitive units 1 when parallel rays of light proceed rightward in Fig. Since the cylindrical lens 2 is present in fact, light in a larger region is received by the photosensitive units 1. Therefore, the sensitivity to the light is heightened. Because the cylindrical lens 2 is provided, the sensitivity of a detector and the accuracy of measurement are raised.
