Abstract
PURPOSE:To get a piston ring assembly device that can smoothly repeat the operation, by feeding the ring to an expanded fitting drum of assembler jig by means of an inverted conical guide and sending the ring toward the periphery of the piston. CONSTITUTION:Piston rings 91, fed toward the periphery of a magazine 11 from the upper side and taken out one after another from the lower side, are sent by a carrier plate 23 to the lower side of an inverted conical guide 27. Each ring is thrusted up by a pusher 72 and fed by the guide 27, while being expanded, to an expanded fitting drum 66 of an assembler jig 65 which moves through the periphery of the guide 27 to the receiving position. After receiving the expanded ring 91, the jig 65 is moved to the fitting position, then the ring is fitted to the piston which is sent to the fitting position.
