Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a motor having large starting torque and high efficiency by connecting permanent magnets and coils which oppose said permanent magnets by a spring, and resonating the system by exciting the coils depending on the position of the permanent magnets. CONSTITUTION:Permanent magnets 2 and 2 are arranged on the inner surface of a yoke 1, having a U-shaped cross section, of a movable unit 3, so that said magnets oppose a pair of coils 5 and 5' provided in a stator 4. The movable unit 3 and the coils 5 and 5' are connected by a spring 6, so that their relative positions can be varied. A position sensor 7 is provided at the center of the coils 5 and 5'. The position sensor, which is compressed by a sliding element 8 provided on the movable unit 3, senses the positions of the permanent magnets 2 and 2. A specified driving circuit is operated depending on the output of the position sensor 7, and the current flowing in the coils 5 and 5' is controlled, so that the system comprising a movable unit 3 and the spring 6, which are vibrating members, are vibrated at a resonant frequency.
