Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain the reflection type optical system of a large diameter and wide angle of view which is superior in imaging performance over the entire part of the image plane by disposing a coma flare correcting plate of peripheral light in front of a television projector using only the Schmidt correcting plate.
CONSTITUTION: An extremely bright optical system of wide angle of view is demanded for television projectors and when a reflection type optical system using a Schmidt correcting plate is used in order to obtain a large diameter, the degradation in imaging performance of the periphery of image plane is large and the decrease in resolving power is considerable of the portions closer to the periphery because no considerations are paid for out-of-axis light. So, a correcting plate 7 which corrects coma flare of out-of-axis light is disposed in front of the Schmidt correcting plate 1. r6 of the correcting plate 7 is plane, r6 aspherical face and selecting the aspherical face coefficient to the specified value lets only the peripheral luminous flux become over without any change in the aberrations of the central luminous flux, thus permitting the improvement of the focusing characteristic of the luminous flux as a whole.
