PURPOSE:To enable to discriminate the greater or smaller relation for the period with a simple constitution, by using a monostable circuit. CONSTITUTION:When the input pulse A is present, the trigger pulse B is generated with the inversion amplifiers 2, 6 and the differentiation circuit 3 to turn on the transistor 7. Thus, the capacitor 13 is discharged and the output D of the monostable circuit 8 is at H level while it is charged to a given voltage via the resistor 12. Further, if the period of the input pulse A is shorter than the basic period, i.e., the period of H level for the output D of the monostable vibrator circuit 8, since the transistors 7 are turned on one after another, the output E is always at H level, and if the period of the input pulse A is longer, the output E is the periodical waveform. Accordingly, the length to the basic period can simply be known.
