Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce the electrostatic adhesion force between photoreceptor surface and transfer paper by so parallelly providing at least two separating destaticizers as to provide large and small different destaticizing effects.
CONSTITUTION: A separating device 14 is constituted by using two separating destaticizers 15, 16. Said both separating destaticizers 15, 16 have a spacing forward and backward in the advance direction of transfer paper, and the distance L between the discharge wire 15a of the backward separating destaticizer 15 and the photoreceptor 11 surface is made larger than the distance l between the discharge wire 16a of the forward separating destaticizer 16 and the photoreceptor 11 surface. As a result of this, the forward separating destaticizer 15 which provides a large destaticizing effect is effective for the surface potential of the black ground part and the backward separating destaticizer 16 which provides a small destaticizing effect becomes effective for the potentials of the white ground part coupled with the separating destaticizer 15. Hence, the adequate destaticizing effects are obtained even with any image patterns of the white and black ground parts and the electrostatic adhesion force between the photoreceptor surface and transfer paper may be surely reduced.
