Abstract

PURPOSE:To enhance the quality of picture by an ink jet plotter by printing a letter in diagonal dots upon forward moving of a carriage and the residual dots upon backward moving of the carriage to eliminate the strain of the dots due to the integration of adjacent dots. CONSTITUTION:The content of one line shift register 10 is alternatively applied at the data of odd address to an upper 20 shift register 11 and at the data of even address to a lower 20 shift register 12 with a D flip-flop 13 by a data clock CLK. After this operation is repeated to fully load the registers 11, 12, a carriage is moved in one direction. When a forward signal becomes high level, an AND gate 14 is opened to feed the content of the register 11 to a switching circuit 16 to print a letter in diagonal dots as disignated with white small circles. When the carriage is fed to the end, the forward signal becomes low level and a return signal becomes high level. Thus, the carriage is moved in opposite direction and an AND gate 15 is opened to feed the content of the register 12 to the switching circuit 16 to print the letter in the residual diagonal dots as designated with black small circles.
