PURPOSE:To improve the accuracy of tap-processing by sucking and clearing chips from the bottom of a downward hole bored by machine work for tapping and others. CONSTITUTION:In a chip removing apparatus, a nozzle part 10 is provided at the top, and a fan 24 is rotated by a motor 30 driven by a battery 28. Chips 8 in the bottom of a blind hole 6a bored on a work 6 is sucked through suction passages 12 and 14, and discharged through a discharge port 20. This apparatus is usually kept in a tool magazine together with other processing tools for cutting and so on to be automatically exchanged, and mounted to a holding divice provided on the main shaft of a machine tool on the basis of a command of numerical control. When chips are cleared, the hole is given a tap-processing very accurately by the machine tool replaced for tapping.
