Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce the deposition of dust by preventing the sticky coagulation of ash formed in the combustion of heavy oil fuel by adding an aqueous solution containing a specific proportion of Si compound to the heavy oil fuel.
CONSTITUTION: An aqueous solution containing 5W50wt% (as SiO2 on the basis of ash) of a Si compound, e.g., colloidal silica, an organosilicon compound, together with 0.001W0.1wt% (on the basis of fuel) a nonionic surfactant as needed, is added to a heavy oil fuel in order to reform the ash formed in the combusion of the heavy oil fuel to noncoalescent one, whereby permitting the reduction of dust in combustor.
