Abstract

PURPOSE: To remove effectively CO2, H2S, and carbonyl sulfide by bringing sulfur- containing industrial gas into contact with an N-alkylalkanolamine solution.
CONSTITUTION: A sulfur-containing industrial gas, e.g., coal carbonization gas, water gas, etc., is brught into contact with an aqueous solution containing 10wt% or more of an N-alkylalkanolamine, e.g., N-methylethanolamine, N-ethylethanolamine, etc. at 0W10°C under a pressure of atmospheric pressure to 200kg/cm2 in order to remove acid gases such as CO2, H2S, and carbonyl sulfide, present in the industrial gases as sufficiently as possible.
