Abstract
PURPOSE: To flame-spray a pulverized material at a high deposition efficiency by forming a double premixing combustion chamber having a flame ejection port at a front end portion thereof an a gaseous-solid mass feeding inlet port at a rear end portion thereof, and providing the chamber with combustion-supportng-gas feeding inlet ports from which the combustion supporting gas is ejected in different directions.
CONSTITUTION: A gaseous-solid mass (for example, a mixture of a pulverized material, such as Al2O3 and a combustion gas, such as C3H3) is supplied via a feeding inlet port 16 into the first premixing combustion chamber 14 and the second premixing combustion chamber 15 in the mentioned order. In the meantime, a combustion supporting gas, such as O2 is supplied via a guide port 17 into the chambers 14, 15 through the first feeding inlet ports 18 and the second feed inlet port 19, respectively. Thus, O2 gas is mixed with the gaseous-solid mass referred to above, and the resulting mixture is ejected from a flame ejection port 12a at a front end portion of the chamber 15. The pulverized material melted in the flame completely is deposited on a base metal. The feeding inlet ports 18 are provided in the tapered wall of the chamber 14 such that the feeding inlet ports are circularly arranged and directed toward an opening 14a. The feeding inlet port 19 consists of an annular slit and is directed toward the flame ejection port 12a. Therefore, the pulverized material in the gaseous-solid mass can be concentrated to the center of the flame without uselessly scattering the same, so that the pulverized material can be sprayed at a high deposition efficiency.
