Abstract
PURPOSE: To inhibit the deflection of gas flow in an absorbing tower, and to improve the efficiency of contact between gas and liquid, by a mechanism wherein eaves with structure being designed so that the quantity of falling liquid is the most at the central portion in the tower is mounted to an upper end of a gas inlet portion of the absorbing tower.
CONSTITUTION: In the contact device for gas and liquid (Fig. a) where liquid is guided to spray nozzles 40 through a line 1 by means of a feed pump 30 from a tank 20 at a lower portion of an absorbing tower 10 and injected, and is gas-liquid-contacted with gas 3 introduced from an inlet duct 50 of the lower portion of the absorbing tower 10, and disposed gas 4 is exhausted outside the system from an upper portion of the tower 10, eaves 60 downward tilted so that the liquid flowing down on a tower wall fall toward the lower portion of the tower is installed to an upper edge of an opening portion 50A of a duct 50 to the tower 10, and a plurality of blades 61 for removing water (the blades are arranged in such a manner that each is formed at angles θ to said upper edge and the more the blades approach to the central protion of the tower, the angles are made larger) are disposed onto the eaves 60 in order that the liquid fall toward the central lower portion of the tower (Fig. b).
