Abstract

PURPOSE: To rapidly reach the speed of a synchronous motor to its synchronous speed even at its nearly synchronous speed by controlling the motor by applying the sum of a synchronization auxiliary signal regardless of frequency difference and a synchronization signal to a standard signal generator circuit.
CONSTITUTION: A synchronous speed standard circuit 7 for controlling a variable speed drive unit 5 for driving a synchronous motor 1 employs the sum of a value integrated with the sum of a signal from a synchronization signal circuit 9 and a signal from a synchronization auxiliary signal circuit 14 and of a value added with the speed standard in the standard circuit 7 as a standard signal. The synchronization circuit 9 produces an acceleration or deceleration signal according to the difference in frequency between an AC bus line 2 and the motor 1. The auxiliary circuit 14 produces an acceleration or deceleration signal regardless of the frequency difference. Accordingly, the motor can be controlled to its synchronous speed rapidly even in the vicinity of the synchronous speed with the circuit 14 added. In addition, even after the motor reaches its synchronous speed, the motor 1 is again accelerated or decelerated when the phase difference is not coincident to thereby equalize the phase difference.
