Abstract

PURPOSE: To facilitate the manufacturing by forming the electrode shaft with such material as having melting point same or similar with that of molybdenum foil, while producing cathode spot on a sintered electrode member composed of a sintered material mainly composed of tungsten and fixed at the top of said electrode shaft.
CONSTITUTION: Electrode shaft 10 is composed of conductive metal such as molybdenum having melting point higher than 1,800°C but lower than that of molybdenum. Sintered electrode member 11 composed of sintered material having tungsten as main component is fixed at the top of electrode shaft 10 at the side of discharging space. Consequently the cathode spot during discharge is always formed on the sintered electrode member 11.
