Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain the toner concentration control method by which the flying of toner is prevented and good images may be obtained by recovering the toner through the use of two rollers according to image densities, and replenishing the toner through controlling depending upon the condition of the images thereby taking the balance of the replenishment and recovery. CONSTITUTION:A developing sleeve 22 and an automatic toner replenishing device 30 are built in a developing device 20. A toner recovery roller 32 is so mounted in proximity to the sleeve 22 as to be able to be rotated counterclockwise to the side part of a toner tank 31. To this is applied bias voltage from a power source 36 so as to provide a potential difference from the sleeve 22, whereby the toner is recovered. A replenishing roller 33 is provided to the lower part of the tank 31 and the number of revolutions of the roller 33 is changed by a drive control unit 16 according to the signal of an image density detecting part 13, whereby the required amount is replenished. By automatically balancing the replenishment and recovery in this way, the toner concentration may be controlled in a narrow fluctuation width and the good images obtained.
