Abstract

PURPOSE:To achieve the rational dehydration treatment of high water-content sludge by suspending dehydrating plates in contact with the surfaces of multiple- row elastic packings, disposing inside filters to the inner side thereof and applying fluctuating pressures to the dehydrating plate groups during dehydrating. CONSTITUTION:A multiplicity of the dehydrating plate group each comprising making one side of a dehydrating plate 13 water-dischargeable and providing an elastic packing so as to close the other side and disposing an inside filter 18 to the inner side thereof are suspended to form a dehydrating chamber 10. The dehydrating plate groups are pressure-contacted by the pantagraph type pressure-contacting device constituted by cross bars 20 to put the packings in a normal state. Fluctuating pressures with respect to the dehydrating pressure at normal pressure-contact degree are exerted thereto by such things as slight easing of the pressure-contact degree of the dehydrating plate groups at the feeding of sludge or the like and increase in the pressure-contact degree at the dehydrating. According to this method, the quantitative efficiency of dehydration and feeding of the sludge or the like is enhanced.
