Abstract
PURPOSE: To minimize the necessary commutation lead angle of a motor depending of its speed, by making driving signals for a power inverter from sine wave signals which are produced by the transformation of phase voltage signals so that the amplitude of the driving signals is small when the speed of the motor is low.
CONSTITUTION: The phase voltage signals of Vu∼Vw of the motor 14 are removed of sharp- pointed pulses by a filter 5 so that basic phase voltage wave signals Eu∼Ew are generated. These basic phase voltage wave signals are multiplied by the output voltage Vf of a tachometer generator 15 through a multiplier of a position detection signal compensation circuit 9, thereby producing the driving signals Ex∼Ez, whose amplitude is small when the speed of the motor is low (Vf1) but large when the speed is high (Vf2). These driving signals are applied to a logical signal conversion circuit 6 so that they are added at the inverse polarity to the basic phase voltage wave signals Eu∼Ew. Polarity-detected position signals PS1∼PS3 are supplied from the conversion circuit 6 to drive the power inverter 3 through a logical gate circuit 7 and a gate pulse generation circuit 8. As a result, the necessary commutation lead angle β of the motor is minimized depending on its speed, the power-factor and efficiency of the motor in its slow run are inproved and the torque ripple is decreased reduced.
