Abstract

PURPOSE: To minimize the time lag between EGR control and mixture strength control which follows the EGR, by changing the pressure in a bleed line of a carburetor in accordance with control of exhaust return valves.
CONSTITUTION: The first accumulator 51 of an EGR amplifier 50 is kept normally negative in pressure due to intake pressure in an intake line 6 through a restriction 52, second accumulator 53 and check valve 54. The first accumulator 51 is normally communicated with atmospheric air and gradually shut off as the intake flow increases, but it is communicated with atmospheric air in case of idling, by means of a diaphragm type two-port two-pisition selector valve 57. An EGR valve 13 functions in accordance with the negative pressure in the first accumulator 51.
