Abstract
PURPOSE: To make a electron beam scanning over the entire area of a fluorescent screen without any need for deflecting force, by parallelly moving the emitting point itself of electrons in a horizontal or vertical direction.
CONSTITUTION: On a transparent support plate 1 is provided a transparent horizontal electrode 2 having multi-stripes, and on its top is applied a fluorescent substance 3, further on the fluorescent substance 3 is provided a vertical electrode 4 with multi-stripes, thus forming a front panel unit. On the other hand, on a rear support plate 6 is arranged a filament 5 in a zigzag pattern, and a rear panel unit is constituted with a certain thickness of vacuum area apart from the front panel, and placed in a face-to-face relation with in parallel and adjacent to the front panel. The display of a picture occurs by generating an electric discharge between the filament 5 and the front panel.
