Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain an economical small sized printer with simple structure by a method wherein a serial operation such as selection of letters, printing, unit up, unit line reset, paper feeding and the like is effected by forward and reverse rotations of a motor.

CONSTITUTION: A gear 47, a selection gear 48 and a cam gear 49 are rotated into H direction by a rotation of a motor 41. The rotation of the selection gear 48 rotates a selection shaft 56, and when a type has been brought to a desired position, an electromagnet 59 is operated and a protuberance 591 pivots a selection pawl 60 to engage with a selection ratchet 55, thereby, selection of the type may be effected. The cam gear 49 pivots a cam shaft 62, a cam 63 and a printing lever 64 and swings a type belt into I direction, thereby, printing may be effected. Further, a pin 66 on the cam shaft 62 engages with a protuberance 671 of an unit feeding gear and winds up a wire 69 by a length corresponding one tooth of a wind-up gear 68, thereby, an unit up may be effected. By a revere rotation of the motor 41, the unit feeding gear 67 is shifted toward M direction and the engagement with the wind-up pulley 68 is released, thereby, the type belt 58 may be reset into an initial position.
