Abstract
PURPOSE:To detect the captioned situatings, by measuring the cumulative tapping amount in each charge tuyere until the tracing substance charged from the tuyere is discharged from the tap hole, and finding the relation between the tracing substance charging position and the cumulative tapping amount. CONSTITUTION:Two tracers are charged simultaneously from one tuyere or two tuyeres spaced sufficiently from each other in each tapping, just before tapping or while tapping. The amount of hot metal and concentration of tracing substance flowing out of the furnace immediately after charging the tracers are measured, and the total discharge of hot metal V from charge of tracers till discharge is measured in each charge tuyere. By expressing the tracer charge position with the ratio S of the area S1 enclosed by the equidistance curve from the tap hole and furnace bottom side wall to the hearth surface S2 (S=S1/S2), and a graph representing the relation of V and -ln(1-S) is determined. From this graph, it is possible to know the hot metal remaining amount in the hearth part, remaining amount in the coke filled layer, and remaining amount in the coke unfilled layer, etc.
