Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a composition whose color-developing effect is not lowered even if stored under a bad condition, by compounding magnesium carbonate and magnesium or calcium hydroxide with specified clay mineral of montmorillonite group so as to meet specifc conditions. CONSTITUTION:Magnesium carbonate (A) and magnesium on calcium hydroxide (B), in a molar ratio A/B of 10/90-90/10, are compounded with acid-treated dioctahedral clay mineral of montmorillonite group having specific surface area of at least 180m<2>/g, in such a way that dicinnamal-acetone color test on a color-developing agent composition containing the clay mineral with a water content of at least 15wt% is negative and methyl red color test on said color-developing agent composition to which is added 30ml of 0.01N benzene solution of n-butylamine per 1g of the composition of dry base is positive.
